Our story
One evening at L’Étoile, told by candlelight.
Read slowly. The candle burns down as you go.
6:00pm
Before the doors open
L’Étoile began with one idea: a dinner should feel like an evening, not a transaction. Long before the first guest arrives, the kitchen is already at work, breaking down the morning’s market, tending the stocks and letting the day’s weather decide what gets cooked.
7:00pm
The first candle
We light the room by hand, one flame at a time. There is no overhead light in the dining room, only candles, so faces soften, voices drop and thirty-two seats begin to feel like a single table.
8:30pm
No menu, only the season
The blind tasting menu is written on the day it is served. You tell us what you cannot eat, and we leave the rest to the market. What arrives is whatever the season has just made worth eating.
10:00pm
The last candle
When the candle on your table burns low, the evening is nearly done. We never rush a guest, because dinner here lasts as long as a candle. We only ask that you stay for all of it.
Dinner here lasts as long as a candle.
Thirty-two seats. An evening illuminated solely by candlelight and absolute culinary devotion. Come and stay for all of it.
